the eighties

| ’82 | Lauren Agoratus sends the following update on her activities: “After the birth of my husband Steve’s and my daughter, I became an advocate for children with special needs. The two most exciting recent events include being appointed by the governor to serve on the State Interagency Coordinating Council for early intervention and being asked to be a regular contributor to ‘Exceptional Parent’ magazine. I want to let other parents out there know there is help.” Thomas Wagner sends career and family news. Tom, a member of the U.S. Air Force, was promoted to lieutenant colonel in 2001. In July 2002, he took on operational responsibilities for the Department of Defense’s largest healthcare region, including the Southeastern United States, Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada, with headquarters in Augusta, Ga. Tom is a diplomat in the American College of Healthcare Executives and board certified in healthcare management. He is married to the former Debora Heller and enjoys spending time with son Bryce, age 15, and daughter Lindsay, age 12. The family makes its home in Evans, Ga.

| ’84 | University of the Sciences in Philadelphia recently presented a faculty service award to Kevin Wolbach of Ambler, Pa. Kevin, an instructor of biology, was selected to receive the Patricia Leahy Award, established to support the recognition of important innovations in teaching, by former award recipients.


Jan R. Jurden ‘85

| ’85 | Jan R. Jurden is serving a 12-year term on the Delaware Superior Court. She was appointed by Gov. Ruthann Minner in April 2001 and confirmed by the Delaware Senate in May 2001. Jan was sworn in on May 29, 2001.

| ’86 | Arthur J. Dichter has been named firm director at Deloitte & Touche in Miami, Fla. Arthur lives in Pembroke Pines, Fla., with his wife Audrey and one-year-old daughter Sydni. Jenny McLarin has returned to Muhlenberg College in her new position as associate director of admission. She is happy to be reunited with Chip Hurd ’86 and Lauren Shanahan ’87, who also work for the College. Jenny remains in close touch with Mark Gennari ’86, who is an optician and lives in northern New Jersey. Jenny lives in Allentown, Pa.


Beth (Glass) Felsen ‘87 and family

| ’87 | Beth (Glass) Felsen writes that she is living in Fairfax County in northern Virginia, where she’s made her home since graduation. Beth is a full-time mom to her three children: Sara, age 6; Benjamin, age 3 1/2; and Noah, age 1. Through her children she has connected with some ’Berg alums also living in the area, including Janet (Yecies) Domolky ’81 and Nancy (Corwin) Malina ’86. Michelle (Aimone) Henderson and her husband Michael currently make their home in Flemington, N.J. Michelle is a full-time mom, staying home to care for her 18-month-old son, Patrick.

| ’88 | Kenneth Spiegelman has been named the recipient of the 2002 F. Scott Baldwin Award by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. The award, given to the nation’s “Most Outstanding Young Trial Lawyer,” was presented at ATLA’s national convention in Atlanta, Ga., in July 2002. Ken is a partner with the Law Offices of Robert Rubenstein in Miami, Fla. He specializes in medical malpractice, products liability and wrongful death litigation. He is a board-certified civil trial lawyer by the Florida Board of Legal Specialization and Review. Ken currently resides in Coral Gables, Fla., with his wife Betsy. The couple has three sons: 6-year-old Michael, 4-year-old Bryan and 1-year-old Benjamin.

the nineties

| ’90 | Francis Piscal Jr. is enrolled as an M.B.A. candidate, class of 2003, at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. Francis is focusing on supply chain management and lives in Bethlehem. Chip Shimer reports that he married Denise Cavallini on June 24, 2001 at Egner Chapel. The couple honeymooned in the Canary Islands. Alumni in attendance at the wedding included Cory Aronovitz, Keith Fader ’91, Sue (Cunningham) Fader ’88, William Widis ’91 and Wendy (Larson) Widis ’93. Chip also reports that he and Denise recently moved into a new home in Saucon Valley, Pa., and were blessed with the birth of their son Will Conrad, who weighed in at 7 pounds, 1 ounce.

| ’91 | Christopher Driscoll and wife Erica happily announce that they recently celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary. The couple has two daughters: 6-year-old Rosie and 4-year-old Emily. The family makes its home in Jackson, N.J. Christopher works as vice president of sales for the Correspondent Services Division at RBC Dain Rauscher in New York City. Christopher would like to say a special hello to all the “F-Hall” crew. Mark Hinkle and his wife Michele (Arilotta) ’92 recently moved into their dream home in Sykesville, Md. They also celebrated special birthdays this past July when their little girl, Jessica, turned one and their son, Jason, turned five. Mark works as a national spokesman at the Social Security Administration’s headquarters in Baltimore. Michele, a teacher, is taking a few years off to stay at home with the children. Michael A. Hoffman M.D. recently completed his surgical residency at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He has taken a private practice position in Winchester, Va., where he also makes his home. Jon Lieb happily announces his marriage to Sarah Lewy on Dec. 8, 2001. Greg Antonelle served as the best man, and Evan Hart was an usher. Other alumni in attendance include: Jordan Cassway, Marc Ehrlich, Beth Kreines, Dina Levinson, Rob Stern ’92, Pete Knappenberger ’90, Elyssa Antonelle ’92, Mark Barbadora ’92, and Michelle Matza ’94. The couple lives in Manhattan. Carole Silvoy sends the following update: “I had two milestones this past year. In September of 2001 I became certified as a sign language interpreter, NAD level IV. After being one of 17 people from around the United States and Canada selected for a special program through the Theatre Development Fund in New York City, in June 2002 I spent a week studying at The Juilliard School. The intensive program ‘Interpreting for the Theatre’ focuses on translation and performance skills in making theater accessible to deaf audiences. This is a great blending of my theatrical and interpreting work, which I put to use at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival doing an American Sign Language-interpreted performance of ‘Henry V.’ Still based in the Lehigh Valley, I continue to work as a freelance artist through my business VoiceSigns.” Alexander L. Wolf sends the following update: “My start-up company has gone from business plan to cash flow positive in its first full month of sales/operations (January 2002). We are growing very quickly!! I already have 90-plus employees in Newark, N.J. (Check out www.norvergence.com for details.)” He also reports that he and wife Jenifer recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary, “but it will be a few years before kids.”
