NEWARK, N.J., May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- NorVergence, Inc. recently
unveiled a new technology offering that appeals to customers who
have off-site or traveling employees who wish to connect directly to
company phone systems from any location. NorVergence's new
MATRIX(TM) VoIP phone will allow users to set up a work station from
any location and dial into the company network as if the user was
on-site.
NorVergence, a managed engineering systems provider based in
Newark, NJ, typically utilizes Voice over Asynchronous Transfer Mode
(VoATM) in its patent-pending MATRIX(TM) line of product offerings.
VoATM provides toll- quality voice calls at zero-cents per minute
and by breaking down packets of information and transferring both
voice and data over the same lines. For customers who prefer the
benefit of three-digit dialing between company locations, Voice over
Internet Protocol (VoIP) is another option that allows for shared
voice mail features and easy, fast dialing; plus, it provides near
toll-quality voice.
NorVergence's new product, the MATRIX(TM) VoIP phone, fills a
technology requirement growing businesses have: to keep top players
connected to the company network while sending them into the field
to conduct business.
The MATRIX(TM) VoIP phone is a phone that is given an IP address
and is programmed by NorVergence. The phone can be connected to any
DSL or cable outlet -- at home, at a customer site or even at a
hotel when traveling. When connected, the phone works just like a
regular desk set connected to the customer's NorVergence MATRIX(TM)
Complete Communications Solution (CCS). Users can dial extensions,
check voice mail, transfer calls and utilize all of the features of
the CCS, such as Find Me/Follow Me technology. All of the
functionality of the CCS can be passed on to workers who are out of
the office.
NorVergence Chief Operating Officer, Alexander L. Wolf, stated
that the functionality of a MATRIX(TM) VoIP phone to businesses will
grow even more extensive once users understand the full capabilities
of the product. "With MATRIX(TM) VoIP phones, business owners can
now employ people who want or need to work from their homes; weather
conditions that typically keep people from coming in to the office
no longer have to keep them from working.
Companies can save exorbitant amounts of money on productivity
that is normally lost when connecting with remote or traveling
employees."
Mr. Wolf added, "Responsiveness to customers, team dynamics, and
general productivity are positively affected with the use of
MATRIX(TM) VoIP phone technology."
The MATRIX(TM) VoIP phone is just one of the features NorVergence
includes in its new T1 Fortress(TM) offering. Other features include
Unlimited Audio Conference Calling, Unlimited Web Conferencing,
Employee Surf Controls and more than a dozen other applications.
