Ken Greene, Leasing Person
of the Year for 2023

This was a unanimous vote by the Leasing News Advisory Board with many compliments and why Ken should be chosen.

Ken was instrumental in the formation of Leasing News in 1992. He has written for Leasing News for 22 nears. He does not get paid as a contributing writer (neither do any of our writers nor the advisory board members).

Early this year, Ken resigned as Legal Editor. He had been diagnosed with cancer that was rampant in one of his kidneys. He eventually had it removed. The cancer spread to his other kidney and his lungs. They called it Stage 4 cancer; not good words to hear, he said. He went into remission with radiation treatment each day.

Ken never stopped working for his clients or the AACFB. He recommended Marshal Goldberg to take over his Legal Editor position. He did continue to work and wrote a few dozen articles, finding it better mentally to keep working.

He is still under treatments but has energy. He is back at work and actively writing again, too. It should be noted how helpful his wife, Barbara, has been caring for him, driving him to all is medical appointments, including daily radiation treatments, basically keeping him alive.

Ken is a musician, playing at many conferences and events, a fund raiser for music events at his kids’ high school in Marin County (he also played piano in Sausalito clubs here in California, raised funds for several 'organizations and for Ukraine since last year in Southern California.)
