The Academy for Lease and Finance Professionals (ALFP) is a three-day event designed to fully prepare an individual to sit for the CLFP exam assuming the attendee has already self-studied. A trend has begun in having virtual online sessions.

During the first two days, all of the required sections of the CLFP exam are covered in-depth. On the third day, the exam is offered but is not mandatory and may be taken on another day.

Students are strongly advised to have read and studied The Certified Lease & Finance Professionals' Handbook prior to attending the class in order to ensure success.

Leasing and business finance companies are carefully letting staff go, as well as hiring, so differentiating yourself is more important than you may have experienced.

I wanted to share some tried and true interview strategies for you to land your next big opportunity that have worked well for all levels in my 25 years of executive: opportunity:

Interviewing is probably one of the most nerve wracking activities that a candidate and hiring manager can do. Most people are not professional interviewers and/or professional interviewees.

In whatever books, articles, or podcasts you have sought,
the two things remain at the top of interview success: “People hire people they like and that are most like them.”

Secondly , “the most qualified person is not the person who will get the job but the one who interviews the best.”

Barry Reitman Memorial
You Are Invited to Join

Barry Reitman, aged 77, of Blooming Grove, New York, passed away on March 20, 2024 after a short illness.

His close friend Steve Geller, wrote, “After a career as a nuclear submarine technician, copier salesman and other vocations, Barry started his own business, Keystone Equipment Leasing, which he ran for many years with his wife, and was a long time participant in the equipment finance industry, and an active member and volunteer for NAELB/AACFB, EAEL and was an early advisor on Leasing News.

"After he wound down his finance career, he became a lecturer on memory development, an author on the subject, website developer, and actor. He has presence on YouTube and had roles in television and movies and off-off Broadway theater. He developed many sets of friends through the years from his various professions and was held in high esteem by many.

Barry Reitman was one of the founders of the National Association of Equipment Leasing Brokers (now AACFB). He was very active in membership, writing, editing and helping the association grow.

Monica Harper, Executive Director, AACFB, and Steve Geller, CLFP, have put this tribute together and ask you to join in.
