Richard Shapiro Biography In 1996 I was a personal trainer at Gold's Gym in Venice,CA I got a call from a friend who said that he had a friend
in Orange County who was looking for a qualified personal trainer who would
train him here in Orange County three times a week, so I called this guy up
and we met and we developed a training program here at a local Gym and I started
driving out from L.A. and training him. I never asked this guy what he did for a living but as the
weeks went by and we developed a good relationship I knew he was going to one
day offer me a job, doing what I didn't know. Well that day did come and the first thing I said to him
was, what exactly do you do? He said Capital Lease Financing, I said what language
are you speaking? I started working for Rockford Industries in early 1997,
Oh that guy I was training, he was Tony Ricco, brother of the founder of Rockford
Industries and the top current salesman, A TOP GUN. Right when I was starting my career @ Rockford the word on
the street was that American Express was going to buy Rockford and fire
everyone. In the middle of the night I helped Tony Ricco move all his
computers out and he started American Medical Capital the following week,
with me now as a regional sales manager and having my own office. I stayed @ AMC for about a year and in early 1998 I decided
that I wanted to work at a "Broker" so I could sell into many Industries,
I asked a lot of people where is a well respected Broker office and everyone
said Saddleback Financial and Warren Emard and Stuard Kennedy. I interviewed with Warren and had an office there the following
day. I worked at Saddleback Financial for 4 1/2 years, my first
year sales were fairly flat while I was learning the Broker business and
the lenders appetite for deals. The second year was a sales growth of 130%. The third a growth of 110% from the previous year. The fourth: 60%. I became the # 1 producer for Saddleback Financial in 2001,
out of (15) sales guys and gals. |
