Corporate Fleet Leasing (CFL), a leading fleet management company, has successfully implemented Northteq's Aurora Loan Origination System (LOS). This transition from Excel based systems has significantly improved their leasing processes, enabling faster deal processing through one-time data entry. By automating workflows and integrating with TURBO-Lease, CFL has enhanced its operational capacity, positioning the company for continued expansion while minimizing manual effort and improving accuracy.
“Northteq’s Aurora LOS allows us to input data once and have it seamlessly flow through the system, greatly improving our overall deal processing and document generation speed.” As a 24-year-old company with a rapidly growing customer base, CFL needed a solution that would allow growth without the limitations of manual processes. By implementing Aurora LOS, the company can now manage leasing processes end-to-end with better accuracy. Through the TURBO-Lease integration for back-end accounting and DocuSign automating document workflows, CFL can now focus on enhancing customer interactions and portfolio expansion
“Aurora LOS met our current needs, integrated perfectly with TURBO-Lease, and provided the long-term flexibility we were looking for,” added Brown. “This has enabled us to expand our business confidently, without the fear of outgrowing our systems again.” CFL’s experience is a compelling example for businesses considering the shift from manual to automated systems—showing that the move to automated solutions can be seamless and highly effective. With Northteq’s Aurora LOS, CFL has reclaimed its operational efficiency by automating time-consuming processes and enhancing scalability. Have you ever gone fishing? Stood there for hours and hours wondering why the fish aren’t coming to you? And thought, ‘this is dumb, I am either walking away with no fish or I am going to change my tactics so that I can get a fish.’ That why it is called fishing, not catching. Many hiring managers, HR Professionals, and leaders say they can’t hire anyone good. They complain that they can’t find, attract and hire top talent. What have they truly done to get the best of the best on board, to differentiate themselves? Using recruiters, job boards, and paying referral fees are great ways to get candidates to interview and hired but what happens next is usually what kills the deal/hire. Once candidates are in the door, hiring organizations forget that they need keep their sales/recruiting hat on (this is critical). They forget that they need to be showing them how great their company is and how they can make a difference in the world rather than finding fault in the candidate. “A” level candidates know they can do the job, can go anywhere they want, and it is your job to recruit them, not select them out. Chances are candidates aren’t lining up outside the door begging to come to work for you. Chances are they are they aren’t they aren’t going to take a pay cut, and chances are you aren’t that cool. You have to differentiate yourself, sell the story, get potential candidates excited and close the deal quickly. There is bigger and better bait on someone else's fishing pole! Ken Ken Lubin
[headlines] Veterans Homelessness Veteran homelessness has long been a significant problem in the United States, rooted in a complex mix of causes often related to difficulties transitioning back to civilian life. Many veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or injuries sustained duringservice, struggle to find employment, which, in the absence of stable support networks, can result in economic hardship and ultimately homelessness. These challenges have historically left a disproportionate number of veterans without permanent housing. In 2010, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development counted more than 70,000 homeless veterans across the country, a stark reminder of the gaps in post-service support. Since then, significant progress has been made in addressing veteran homelessness. A joint program of the Departments of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) proved particularly effective, as it provides veterans with a combination of rental vouchers and access to social services, helping them secure permanent housing and receive critical support to help them sustain it. Backed by billions in funding from Congress, HUD-VASH, as the program is called, has helped reduce veteran homelessness by more than 50 percent since 2010, making it a prime example of successful government assistance. And despite an uptick in homelessness in 2023, as rising rents have made it harder to find affordable housing, the program serves as proof that targeted interventions can significantly reduce homelessness if adequate funding is provided.

[headlines] [headlines] Watch at Home Though perhaps best known to younger audiences for her roles in the “Harry Potter” franchise and the “Downton Abbey” series, Dame Maggie Smith (1934-2024) brought her subtle wit and dazzling technique to decades of film, stage and television work. So check out our list for her finest performances. The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969): Smith won a Best Actress Oscar for her fierce performance in this screen adaptation of Muriel Spark’s acclaimed novel, directed by British stalwart Ronald Neame (“Tunes of Glory”). Set in a Scottish all-girls school during the 1930s, the story centers on Miss Jean Brodie (Smith), a teacher whose free-spirited behavior puts her at odds with the conservative headmistress (Celia Johnson). She divides her attentions between two suitors, a straitlaced music teacher (Gordon Jackson) and a philandering art instructor (Robert Stephens), though her most telling relationship rests with one of her pupils, self-possessed Sandy (Pamela Franklin). Capturing the protagonist’s capricious nature, Smith gives a master class in brittle gestures and surfaces as the initially lighthearted story darkens along the way. Travels with My Aunt (1972): Teaming up with classic director George Cukor (“The Philadelphia Story”), Smith shines in one of her most underappreciated titles. Playing older than her real age as an elderly eccentric, she stars as Augusta Bertram, who one day turns up at the funeral of bank clerk Henry (Alec McCowen), claiming to be his aunt. Determined to shake up her nephew’s dull life, she introduces him to a group of fellow free spirits (including Louis Gossett Jr. as an African fortune teller) as they travel across Europe and into Turkey. Gradually, the true purpose behind Aunt Augusta’s carefree journey emerges, involving a ransom for a kidnapped former lover (Robert Stephens). Showcasing Cukor’s typical elegance and liveliness, this adaptation of Graham Greene’s comic novel is worth discovering. California Suite (1978): Smith won her second Oscar, this time in the Supporting Actress category, in this quartet of comedies from Neil Simon (“The Odd Couple”) following different guests at a luxury hotel. Ironically, she plays a British actress attending the Academy Awards for her first nomination alongside her husband (Michael Caine). The other segments focus on a bickering New York couple (Jane Fonda, Alan Alda) struggling to figure out a good arrangement for their daughter, a Philadelphia businessman (Walter Matthau) trying to not get caught in a compromising position when his wife (Elaine May) unexpectedly drops by, and Chicago friends (Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor) who get caught up in a most competitive tennis match. Bringing stylishness to an often-broad farce, Smith walks away with the movie. The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne (1987): Though usually associated with light roles, Smith delivers a deeply devastating performance in this moving drama from meticulous veteran Jack Clayton (“Room at the Top”). Judith Hearne (Smith) is a Dublin music teacher who for years took care of a sick, demanding aunt (Wendy Hiller). When she moves to a boarding house, she becomes involved with her landlady’s brother, James (Bob Hoskins). A widower recently back from America, his rakish charm gives hope to the depressive Judith… until she learns that he’s mainly interested in getting money for a business venture. Burrowing fearlessly into her character’s repressed psyche, Smith at her best gives an unforgettable portrayal of a woman stranded in a personal crisis yet trembling with yearning. Gosford Park (2001): Smith has a deliciously scene-stealing turn (earning her last Oscar nomination) in this exceptional comedy-drama from the masterful Robert Altman (“Nashville”). Set in 1932 in an aristocratic British manor, the film follows a large group of characters who gather for the weekend at the home of a wealthy, much-disliked industrialist (Michael Gambon). Among them is a dowager countess (Smith) who’s the aunt of the lady of the house (Kristin Scott Thomas), a nobleman (Charles Dance), the head housekeeper (Helen Mirren), a silver-screen matinee idol (Jeremy Northan) and an American filmmaker (Bob Balaban). When a murder takes place and a police inspector (Stephen Fry) enters the scene, everybody’s a suspect. Suggesting a mix of an Agatha Christie mystery and the classic “The Rules of the Game,” Altman’s film remains an acerbic gem.
